  1. Chicken Stew

Waalaikumsalam, A famous chef once told me that the mix of sugar and salt will replace MSG (monosodium glutamate) in our dish. And MSG does make our dish more delicious but it is bad for our health that's why sugar and salt are used. But sometimes people mix sugar and salt for different reason like to make the food's taste balanced or make an unique taste combination. This dish tastes rather sweet but delicious. Maybe that's why. Wassalam

  4. Chicken Noodle Soup

Assalamualaikum, Hello, everyone, I am back with another halal recipe to enrich your culinary experience :) SInce it is cold now in many countries, I will show you a recipe that can warm up the day. Check it out! CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP Serves : 4 Total Time: 1 hrs 20 mins Prep Time: 40 mins Cook Time: 40 mins Ingredients 1 1/4 lbs chicken pieces, with the bone still in (preferably thigh) 4 cups water (1 litre) 1 teaspoon salt 2 -3 tablespoons oil (for frying) 1/2-1 teaspoon chicken stock powder (optional) 1 cup coconut milk (250ml) 2 kaffir lime leaves, edges torn 2 small waxy potatoes, boiled, peeled and sliced 2 hard-boiled eggs, peeled and quartered, seasoned with salt and pepper if desired 1 1/2 cups bean sprouts (120g) 7 ounces fine dried rice vermicelli, soaked in hot water to soften (200g) 2 shallots or 2 onions 2 -4 tablespoons chopped cilantro Seasoning Paste 1 teaspoon black peppercorns 1 teaspoon coriander seed, lightly toasted 4 candlenuts, chopped or 4 macadamia nuts 2 ounces shallots, roughly chopped (60g) 2 garlic cloves, minced 1 slice ginger, minced 1/2 inch fresh turmeric, minced or 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder To Serve 1 lime, quartered (optional) chili sauce (optional) salty crackers (optional) Directions 1. Put the chicken, water, and salt in a saucepan. Bring to the boil, cover, lower heat, and simmer gently until the chicken is soft. When the chicken is cool enough to handle, discard the skin and remove the flesh from the bones, shredding it finely by hand. Put back into chicken stock. 2. Prepare seasoning paste by processing all ingredients listed below seasoning paste. Add a little of the oil if needed to keep the mixture turning. 3. Heat the oil in a saucepan with a heavy base, then add the seasoning paste and stir-fry over low-medium heat until fragrant, about 4 minutes. Add the reserved chicken stock with the chicken pieces and bring to the boil. Add the coconut milk and kaffir lime leaves, then bring gently to the boil, stirring. Taste and add a little chicken stock powder if desired. Simmer with the pan uncovered for 5 minutes. 4. In between, slice the 2 shallots very thinly and evenly. Heat enough vegetable oil to cover the shallots. When it is just warm, not hot, add the sliced shallots and cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown and crisp. It is important to keep the temperature low otherwise the shallots will brown before they are cooked. The process may take around 8 minutes. Lift out and dry on paper towel. The flavoured oil can be kept for frying or used as a seasoning oil. 5. To serve, divide the noodles between four large bowls and pour the chicken stock over. Divide the sliced potatoes, egg quarters, bean sprouts, chopped coriander and crispy shallots. 6. Serve with a lime wedge, salty crackers, and put a small dish of chili sauce onto the table, so that your guests can spice up the dish if desired. That's all. May you like it. Have a nice meal... err... day :D Wassalam
  5. Problems With My Sister

Assalamualaikum, Problem with sister? Yeah, I have it too :D Seems like your sister thinks that whatever she does to you won't make you leave her because you are her family that have unconditional love and patience. Time to change that. Meaning? Don't let her do anything as she please. You should tell her whenever she is doing wrong and show her what is wrong. At first it seems like you are talking to a wall but believe me, actually your sister thinks about it and (Insya Allah) will change gradually. I have many experiences in that matter. Then I think you can try to avoid her as many as possible. It doesn't mean that you do not talk to her but try to spend as little as possible time with her. It worked with my relationship somehow so your sister will realize that no one will tolerate her forever. You also can try to move your room to avoid her. Bring all your things with you including clothes and if possible do not let her wear your clothes without permission so she knows how to respect other's property. Lock your closet if needed. I know it is hard but hey, sleeping on the floor for several months will do you no good. Even it will show your "submission" to her. On the other hand, your bold actions will show your sister that you have enough with her rude behaviours and make your sister think that her family actually have this thing called feelings that can not be looked down otherwise she will be neglected. Don't worry about your parents' dua, because honestly it doesn't have anything to do with your sister's hurtful actions. Maybe they will question your changes towards your sister, but tell them the truth that your sister's actions have gone beyond your tolerance and patience. If they do not believe you, then record some of her actions in video or audio then show it to them. Last but not least, pray to Allah to ease your problem. That's it, I think. Hope your problem can be solved (if it is not solved already since it has been almost two months ago :D). Have a nice day :) Wassalam
  6. I Need Your Prays.....for My Dad.

Waalaikumsalam, You will be in my prayer, Brother. Think of it as test and be patient. Insya Allah, Allah will give the best for your family. Wassalam

Heat vegetable oil in a pot, add the spice paste, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and cinnamon stick. Stir fry this spices until they are turning color, fragrant and light golden. When the spices and herbs are turning color, add coconut milk, water and salt. Bring it to a rolling boiling. At boiling point, add lamb cubes and cook until the meat is tender and the soup is thicken. Cover and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. 8. Spicy Eggplant

Assalamualaikum, You don't like shrimp paste, Sister? I think it is the best addition to the spice paste. IMO, without the shrimp paste, the spice paste won't be as delicious as it should be. But everyone has different taste, so go ahead with your own liking :) Wassalam
  9. Spicy Eggplant

  11. Im/ Skype-Ing With Non Muhram?

Assalamualaikum, I once believed that mere texting or chatting with nonmahram was okay, but after searching through many scholars' opinions, now I know that is wrong according to Islam, moreover if it lead to video call, video chat, etc. If you want to get married with that guy, you should go to halal procedures in Islam. Do not go through saytan's way eventhough it is so tempting otherwise you will be mislead. The Prophet Muhammad saw said, "Whenever a man is alone with a woman the Devil makes a third. (Hadith - Ahmad and Al-Tirmidhi 3118, Narrated Umar ibn al-Khattab , Tirmidhi transmitted it) Allah (swt) says: "Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah is well acquainted with all they do. And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards God, that ye may attain Bliss. " (24:30-31) Wassalam
  12. I'm Tired Of Those People

Assalamualaikum, I have told you about that a long time ago, Brother, but maybe only recently you realized about it. Indeed there are some groups of nonmuslim people who intend not to seek knowledge on Islamic forum, but only want to create havoc even destroy that forum. They will use the most polite words ever to avoid being banned but will keep attacking Islam if given chance without even looking at our explanation at all. They will repeat the same question over and over again or pretend to be dumb eventhough we have defeated their arguments. Even those "polite people" have their own forum where they create their strategy together and mock us here on Islamic forum. I have met those people before therefore I knew. They have been banned anywhere so maybe they try their luck here because this forum is not that stritch. I like Brother Younes' suggestion, but I want to add more: 1. If the question has been answered but the nonmuslim member shows the sign of repeating the question over and over again/making endless thread then quickly lock the thread after giving final answer from our side 2. Ban those members who keep attacking Islam over and over again aften given explanation That's it. I hope it helps Wassalam
  13. How Much More Will The World Destroy Me?

Assalamualaikum We muslims greet at each other with salam, right? Remember that next time you are starting a discussion/post If you know that your country is not muslim country then you realize that you have no many choices. Since you are powerless now, just use whatever available in your country or try to minimalize it for example read Quran in English. Nothing is perfect in this world but our job is to make the best out of it. Even muslims are allowed to eat haram food if they are starving. So I think it is okay to attend nearest Masjid available or join/seek help from the organization as long as they are practicing Islam in the right direction regardless of a LITTLE difference they have with your ideal. Excuse me, how was the girl trying to "ruin" your friendship with "the only person you trust completely"? Can you share your story here? Because sometimes you missunderstand the intention of a good person, moreover if the girl is muslim. Oh yeah, I have that experience a long time ago so I know. Then again, if you have "the only person you trust completely" so why bother to share your story here? Where is that "only person you trust completely"? Can't that "only person you trust completely" solve your problem? Since you rely heavily on that person, that person must be very good, right? Who is that "only person you trust completely" anyway? Ulema? Sheikh? Imam? If not, than trusting that person completely is something arguable. What I am trying to tell you is if you trust one person that much as if your world is depend on that person, then you are at a big loss. Nobody's perfect and who knows that the person trying to mislead you from the REAL Islamic teachings. If it comes to life, don't depend on someone heavily because when that person is gone, you have nothing else in this world. Try to make as many friends as you can. Listen to as many people as you can. In this world, the voice of truth does not come only from you or "the only person you trust completely", but from Quran, As-Sunnah, and ummah At least you still have a decent home, clothes, food, even internet connection. You have to be grateful for that. Have you ever seen people in Palestine, Syria, Afghan, Egypt, or Iraq now? They are WAY WAY WAY WORSE than you right now. You are not the most suffering person on this earth. If you want to be helped then READ and LISTEN to other people that have tried to help you on this forum or outside. If you live in your shell (aka being introvert) forever, then you will forever suffer. Join the ummah and Insha Allah your life will be better.Wassalam
  14. Depression As A Convert

Assalamualaikum, I think your problem is you have been too long to be an introvert person. You should try to open yourself. This world is big so why not try to make friends? Telling friends about your life will lift your burden and make your life happier that will instantly solve your depression problem. But if you have friends, always remember to TAKE and GIVE, not only take but not wanting to give because that make friendship broken. I know you are confused being new convert but number one priority in your life should be Allah only, not figure or anything. Because why bothers being convert if you are focusing on someone else besides of Allah? As muslim, you should know that your very reason to live in this world is for Allah not for pleasing another humans/creatures or any other worldly desires. And killing yourself won't make you any happier or free of problem. Because you will be tortured FOREVER in hereafter. I hope you will take note on that. Wassalam
  15. 15 Reasons For Muslim To Live In Indonesia

Alhamdulillah, finally you admit your defeat in this arguments by not capable of answering my challenge! Like I stated here: Now, like all typical of atheist who is defeated on argument, you can only: 1. Avoiding my right answers 2. Playing dumb 3. Repeating the same things over and over again But the points of this discussions are: 1. I have answered all your wrong accusations you got from one-sided news about Indonesia generally and muslims specifically. As I said here : About christians-thingy, I need not to answer since I have explained it over and over again here : But it is up to you if you don't want to understand or pretend to not understand, it is not me whose intelligence is at doubt anyway. If you insist to defend those liars and tricksters in the name of religion (how strange, an atheist stand up for a religion?) and play dumb to any rational reasons then go on, that way everyone will know your true colors. I am not misguided, I know the truth behind your fake flowery words and Qur'an has taught me about that: "They (think to) deceive Allah and those who believe, while they only deceive themselves, and perceive (it) not! In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies. And when it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "We are only peacemakers."Verily! They are the ones who make mischief, but they perceive not. (2:9-12) On the other hand, I suggest you to read the world's history and see how many mischiefs in the world caused by atheists, christians, and other religions compared to Islam. You will be suprised that Islam is so much better than other religions or nonreligions. 2. All your challenges have been answered, while you couldn't answer even one of my challenge 3. I never avoided your questions or statements, but you avoided mine if you felt like you couldn't answer them 4. Finally you accept that Indonesia is tolerant because you said that like Australia, all your "problems" directed to Indonesia didn't reflect how is the true Indonesia. I want to add that mostly Indonesians are helpful and kind 5. Finally you accept that Islam in Indonesia is not the problem since you said that you were not criticising it. I never said Islam is the problem, I said the people who badmouthed it are the problem after all its kindness and tolerance to minorities in Indonesia And your explanations about Australia doesn't simply make dissappear the fact that muslims earn less jobs and money than Australia born, moreover if you deny it by saying it is more often racial than religious discriminations that happen in Australia, because I have not heard anything about racial in Australia, even in international news. Now, it is up to you if you couldn't understand my analogies. Not all humans are granted the ability to read between the lines anyway, and seems like it is including you. It explains why you don't understand my points eventhough I have repeated it over and over again. I am not making a lot of incorrect assumptions, I only wrote what I saw here on the discussion. But since you have been defeated, also all cases, missunderstandings, and actions of Indonesia have been answered, I happily say that we have no more to be discussed. Everything has been clear that Indonesia and its muslims populations are one of most tolerant ones on earth and mostly people including those of different religions are living in harmony in Indonesia. If you hear otherwise, then it must be from unbalanced sources because as I have written above, Indonesia won't tolerate any mischiefs. Indonesia is one of the most promosing country in the world and it will keep developing at amazing rates. “As I travel around the world over the next years, I will be saying to people, if you want to know whether Islam, democracy, modernity, and women’s rights can coexist, go to Indonesia.” Hillary Rodham Clinton, Secretary of State address at Indonesian Civil Society Dinner in Jakarta (February 18, 2009)
